Happy Monday! We have several items available this week!

🍏Our early season apples, Yellow Transparents, are finally ripening! This variety is great for baking, pressing, applesauce, and even snacking, but be sure to store them in the fridge and eat them quickly - these don’t store like fall apples do.

🥚Eggs are plentiful - especially our beautiful duck eggs!

🫖We now have herbal tea to sell! Made primarily from farm grown ingredients, these teas are truly grown and crafted with love. We have 4 varieties currently ‘Rest & Relax,’ ‘Migraine,’ ‘Tummy Care,’ & ‘Lavender Fest ‘25.’

🛁We also have a lovely, soothing bath tea crafted with oats, colloidal oatmeal, lavender, calendula and lemon balm - made with farm grown herbals.

These items, and more, are available to buy for on-farm pick-up. To learn more or purchase, DM, email, or visit our website!

Sound Grown lip balm, the first skin care product I made. These lip balms are near and dear to my heart. Not only do I love using them, but I love making them. Crafted from ingredients grown right on our farm, these balms give your lips the soft moisture they need without feel heavy or waxy. We have a variety to choose from, including those made with Calendula Oil, Evergreen Oil, and our Sound Grown exclusive Calm Oil. 😌

If you want to give our lip balms a try (or ran out and need more!), you can place an order on our website or via email. We will also be at on 8/9 and on 8/16.

It is spring and the eggs are plentiful!

We have fresh eggs here at Sound Grown Farm. We have chicken eggs (pictured on the left) and duck eggs (pictured on the right). Our chickens and ducks sleep in separate coops at night but have outdoor access daily where they forage. We also provide quality feed, oyster shells chicken egg shells, and duck egg shells, as well as other grubs and greens from the garden. We are selling chicken eggs and duck eggs - both Mallard & Muscovy. The difference between our Mallard and Muscovy eggs is that the Muscovy eggs have large yolks with little whites, which can be great for a variety of cooking projects (such as lemon curd!).

We are selling our eggs for the following prices:

Chicken eggs (assorted colors):
- $3.50 six-pack
- $7 dozen

Duck eggs (Mallard mix):
- $4 six-pack
- $8 dozen

Duck eggs (Muscovy):
- $3.50 six-pack
- $7 dozen

Most of our eggs are left completely unwashed, while some of the really messy ones are spot cleaned (this is exclusive to ducks - they are a messy group). If you are interested in our eggs, please reach out! We are located near Olalla.

Last, but certainly not least, Janis!

Janis is a Mallard blend. She is around 2 months old. She is a bit sassy, and also somewhat evasive. In much of the group photos of the flock, she is either not pictured or her face is blocked, shielding her identity…🤔 She loves to dive in the pond, and enjoys playing in the water and foraging in the duck run with her flock.

So, with that, Duck Week has come to a close! 🦆 Thanks for tuning in. Check back in for ducks, honeybees, fruits, veggies, herbs, lip balm, body bars, tea, and other farm grown, handmade delights!

It’s Puddles!

Puddles is a Mallard mix. She is also two months old, like her flock. She is very cautious, and a bit mischievous, and she loves swimming and foraging with her sisters. You typically won’t see her wandering off on her own.

There is only one more day of Duck Week, so check back with us tomorrow to meet our 7th Duck.

And if you live in the Kitsap area, check out on before the market closes tonight. We have a few items listed this week, with more in the weeks to come.

Hi Blackberry!

Blackberry is a Muscovy. She is about two months old. It has been such a delight watching Blackberry find her way in this group. When I brought the muscovies to the farm to join the mallards, the mallards picked on the muscovies. Blackberry was noticeably at the bottom of the pecking order; she, quite literally, was pecked at and pushed around. Now, just after a week, she can be found swimming with the mallards, and pulling grass out of their mouthes to eat for herself. We are so happy to see her asserting herself!

We skipped a day of Duck Week (did you miss us??), but we will be back tomorrow - we still have two more ducks to introduce!

Here is Pearl.

Pearl is a Mallard mix, possibly with Welsh Harlequin. She, too, is 2 months old. She is cautious and independent. She tends to stay close with her Mallard sisters, but can often be seen mingling with the muscovies, or foraging by herself. But she is never too far away from the rest of her flock. Unlike the other mallards, she has white coloring on her neck and around her eyes (which is where we guess Welsh Harlequin).

Visit us tomorrow to learn about another mallard in our Sound Grown flock!

I introduce to you, Quacky.

Quacky is a Muscovy. She is 2 months old. Though her name implies that she quacks, she makes more of a cooing sound. It’s very cute! She warmed up to us humans very quickly, and eagerly eats mealworms from our hands. She LOVES mealworms! Come back tomorrow to meet another one of Quacky’s sisters!
