With the coming of spring brings lush, green grass that may be great for most, but for horses that are prone to developing grass founder, this season is one full of issues. To actively prevent this problem, keep your horses weight down through exercise and diet management and keep "easy keepers", ponies, and horses prone to grass founder off of lush, fast growing pastures until grass has slowed its growth! 🌱

💧Keep your horse hydrated
🌱Provide plenty of high quality forage
💦Dampen hay with water immediately before feeding
2️⃣Two days prior to a significant weather change, wet down the grain / feed and serve it as a mash
⚡️Add electrolytes to your horses feed
🐎Turnout and exercise are extremely important
❗Have a plan ready should a problem occur

Just wanted to take a second to Thank Doc Alli & Lady Clayton for the GREAT job they did with my big guys teeth today. The Ladies make a great team!! You can see in the videos, Sprocket pulled back a bit but overall showed no stress at all before or after and never fought them. I actually saw the Doc whispering in Sprockets ear. She really is a Horse whisperer!! LOL!! Good Job Ladies, I appreciate the extra time and care you spent on the herd today!
