It’s Burns Night, named in honor of the Scottish Poet, Robert Burns. We are having a wee dram to honor his words and his life.

We haven’t been silent on current events, we have just been quiet on here because my (Leah’s) mom died in October, and have been dealing with all of the things that happen with that. We have missed you.

But, we want to say that if you still agree with what this administration is doing in this country, you side with ICE and are ok with what they are doing to people and the loss of life from our own government, you can get off our page. No need to announce your departure, you can go quietly into the night. It’s not political, we have a moral difference and we don’t need your support.

In the words of Robert Burns himself, in his Bannockburn poem:
“By Oppression’s woes and pains!
By your sons in servile chains!
We will drain our dearest veins,
But they shall be free!

“Lay the proud usurpers low!
Tyrants fall in every foe!
Liberty’s in every blow!
Let us do or die!”

A few weeks ago, we got skip town and go down to KC for a few days of estate sales, thrifting and picking up items for

It’s hard work stocking an online store, antique booth and getting ready for at the same time! 😅

But, at night we made sure to have some of the best food and sips in town! One night we finished our evening at .child.kc and as always, it was delicious!

The first 2 photos are the Wicked Western: Morel Mushroom and brown butter fat washed bourbon, vermouth caramel, and peat smoke.

Pic 3: Last Night’s Pad Thai: pea sprout infused shochu, peanut, tamarind, brown sugar, green chile, Rhum and lime

Pic 4: Pretty As A Picture: raspberry, calvados, almond orgeat, rose vermouth, lime

Pic 5: Liquid Gold: bourbon, butterscotch infused Benedictine, salt

I think the only one still on the menu is the Liquid Gold. But this just means you will have to go try other delicious offerings there! Trust me, they were all tasty!
