Not a dull moment on the farm this summer! Grazing, growing, haying and taking some time to enjoy life on the farm!

As always we have raw fleeces, wool products and fresh lamb available.

We are all sold out of breeding stock for 2026! Thanks to Leo Atkinson and Toni Jerome we can’t wait to see how your new Leicesters do!

Spring has sprung on the farm! Lots of excitement as we officially farm our new 40 acres for the first time! Grazing of the fall rye followed by working and seeding the grazed acres into permanent pasture that we are setting up to be rotationally grazed for years to come. Permanent fences are going up, shade shelters being installed and new crops are growing!
Summer fun on the farm is just around the corner!

Come meet Jenna and Melanie .farm for a full day of classes at the farm. Saturday October 18, 2025. You will learn how to prepare the fiber for spinning. In the afternoon, you will learn how to spin with a drop spindle. It’s also a great opportunity to purchase fiber from their freshly sheared sheep. For more details, visit my website. (link in bio)

We are Jenna and Mélanie James, owners of Jamestead Farm.
We founded our flock of purebred Border Leicester sheep in 2021 with the purchase of four ewes from Hunterdown Leicesters. In 2024, we built our barn and brought our sheep home to our farm in Moose Creek, Ontario. Passionate about sheep farming, we are carefully growing our flock, turning what began as a hobby into a small business.

Our mission: to breed exceptional Border Leicesters, with a focus on wool quality, mothering ability, growth rate, and true breed type.

We are grateful to have discovered the Border Leicester and to have made it our breed of choice. Since then, we have fallen in love with everything they offer, both to us and to our clients. Over the years, this adventure has not only allowed us to expand our knowledge and skills, but also to become part of an inspiring community of sheep farmers and fiber enthusiasts!

Nous sommes Jenna et Mélanie James, propriétaires de Jamestead Farm.
Nous avons fondé notre troupeau de moutons Border Leicester de race pure en 2021, avec l'achat de quatre brebis provenant de l’élevage de Hunterdown Leicesters. En 2024, nous avons construit notre grange et installé nos moutons chez nous, à la ferme de Moose Creek en Ontario. Passionnées par l'élevage de moutons, nous faisons grandir notre troupeau avec soin, passant d'un passe-temps à une petite entreprise.

Notre mission: élever des Border Leicester d'exception, reconnus pour la qualité de leur laine, leurs aptitudes maternelles, leur croissance remarquable et leur authenticité de race.

Nous avons eu la chance de découvrir le Border Leicester et d'en faire notre race de choix. Par la suite, nous sommes tombées amoureuses de tout ce qu'ils nous offrent, à nous comme à nos clients. Au fil des années, cette aventure nous a permis non seulement de développer notre savoir-faire, mais aussi de rejoindre une communauté inspirante d'éleveurs de moutons et de passionnés de fibres!
