🇰🇷 1. Bibimbap
Serves: 2
Ingredients
* 2 cups cooked rice
* 200 g thinly sliced beef
* 1 cup spinach
* 1 cup bean sprouts
* ½ carrot, julienned
* ½ zucchini, julienned
* ½ cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced
* 1 egg
* 2 tbsp gochujang
* 1 tbsp soy sauce
* 1 tbsp sesame oil
* 1 tsp minced garlic
* 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
* 1 tsp sugar
* Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Cook the rice and keep warm.
2. Blanch the spinach and bean sprouts separately, then season lightly with sesame oil and salt.
3. Sauté the carrot, zucchini, and mushrooms individually until tender.
4. Cook the beef with soy sauce, garlic, sugar, and a little sesame oil until browned.
5. Fry the egg sunny-side up.
6. Fill a bowl with hot rice.
7. Arrange all vegetables and beef around the rice.
8. Place the fried egg in the center.
9. Add gochujang, sprinkle sesame seeds, and drizzle with sesame oil before mixing everything together.
🥩 2. Bulgogi
Serves: 4
Ingredients
* 500 g thinly sliced beef
* ½ onion, sliced
* 2 green onions, chopped
* 3 cloves garlic, minced
* ¼ cup grated pear
* ¼ cup soy sauce
* 2 tbsp brown sugar
* 1 tbsp sesame oil
* 1 tbsp mirin
* 1 tsp grated ginger
* ½ tsp black pepper
* 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
* Salt to taste
Instructions
1. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, mirin, pear, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
2. Add the beef and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Cook the beef until browned and caramelized, about 5–7 minutes.
5. Add the onion and cook until softened.
6. Stir in the green onions.
7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
8. Serve hot with steamed rice and lettuce wraps if desired.
🌶️ 3. Dakgalbi
Serves: 4
Ingredients
* 500 g boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
* 2 cups chopped cabbage
* ½ carrot, sliced
* ½ sweet potato, thinly sliced
* 1 cup rice cakes (tteok)
* 3 tbsp gochujang
* 2 tbsp soy sauce
* 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
* 1 tbsp brown sugar
* 1 tbsp minced garlic
* 1 tbsp sesame oil
* 1 tsp minced ginger
* 2 green onions, chopped
* Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Mix gochujang, soy sauce, gochugaru, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
2. Coat the chicken with the sauce and marinate for 20–30 minutes.
3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Add the chicken and cook for about 5 minutes.
5. Add the sweet potato, carrot, cabbage, and rice cakes.
6. Stir-fry for 10–15 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the vegetables are tender.
7. Add the green onions and cook for another minute.
8. Serve immediately with steamed rice.
