Recently, we took a week off to visit our daughter Hilary in Tennessee. We had a great relaxing time and a much needed break. Of course while there I was on the lookout for fresh fruit. Peaches were in season!

Yesterday, I made 4 different kinds of jam - spiced peach, original peach, maple peach and peach cobbler. Fresh fruit makes all the difference in providing superior taste! These seasonal jams, along with other flavors, will be available for sale at Saturdays Newport farmers market. We have garlic still available as well. Stop by to check out all the vendors. We have five weeks left before the market ends for the year. Perfect opportunity to grab early christmas gifts! Thanks for shopping local and supporting small businesses!

Blueberry sage jam has been a hit this summer! I always strive to use locally sourced ingredients. These berries and herbs couldn’t be any fresher…..picked from my gardens and made into jam within an hour. I enjoy this hectic time with canning the glory of the gardens bounty. But, I do miss my knitting needles and sewing machine…..

Come check out our jams, garlic, eggs, meats, syrup and other goods at the Newport Farmers Market on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 9-2. Thank you for supporting your local small businesses!

2026 garlic season at the farmstead! Andrew planted 1433 cloves last fall and he harvested 1430 this year. Wonderful crop! We grew two new varieties this year, Music and Hardy German Red. We also have lots of Hardy German White. The new varieties are not as big but they’re healthy and they’ll progress in the following years. 🧄
They will cure for the next few weeks. Once completed, we will sell culinary and seed garlic at the farmers market and our farmstead!
Safe to say the vampires will not be visiting us! 🧛

The chickies love scratching in the fresh cut hay. Our first cut crop was down as compared to last year. We have enough to feed our livestock but not any extra for sale. Let’s hope for a better second harvest! Shout out thanks to McKenna, Kaden, Anthony and Lennox for helping their old(er) mom/dad, grandma/Baboo get the job done. We appreciate and love you!

Yesterday, Andrew and I processed the last of our meat birds to make room for the next batch of 25 babies coming today. They averaged about 6 lbs. We harvested them earlier this year at 6+ weeks. We find this size is best for the retail market. Since we own our processing equipment, we are able to process at our convenience. It’s not a glorious task, but we know what we are eating and how humanely our birds were raised. These birds will be for sale within the next couple weeks. We like to give them sufficient cooling/freezing time. We do have birds available from previous processes. You can find our pasture raised Cornish x whole chickens here at the farmstead or at the Newport Farmers Market. Check out our site and the other vendors at the market this Saturday from 9-2. Come talk to the people who raise your food! We love to talk about our farm…..As always, thanks for supporting local, small businesses! We appreciate you!!

The newest members of our farm family are earning their way. The gals are super busy producing big, beautiful, brown eggs. Our older hens have become motivated to join in so we now have eggs-galore! We will have these amazing orbs (along with other great family produced products, including a huge sale on plants) at the Newport Farmers Market on Saturday 6/27 from 9-2. Stop by to hear our many chicken stories! As always, thank you for supporting farmers markets and small businesses. It is noticed and appreciated very much!

My sewing room is my happy place. Even when the thread breaks or the bobbin screws up. I love sewing in front of this window where I can see some of my favorite things - the greenhouse, barns, cows in the pasture and the free range chickens.
My mom was an incredible seamstress. I have her sewing machine which is on top of my Grammie’s sewing table. I’m never going to be close to their skill level. But, I feel them both with me when I’m sewing and that means more than perfection.
This week I’ve been adding new designs of tote bags created from recycled grain bags. I will have them for sale tomorrow at the market. We will also have our usual goods including our farm fresh meats, jams, veggie starts, maple syrup and EGGS!
Hope to see you at the Newport Farmers Market tomorrow from 9-2. As always, thanks for supporting the small businesses located at farmers market. We appreciate you!!

Can you believe this guy turns 4 in a few days? We are celebrating this great event on Saturday, June 6th. For this reason we will not be at tomorrow’s Newport Farmers Market. You can find us back at the market on the following Wednesday, june 10th.

The farmstead greenhouse will be open on Sunday, June 7th from 10-3. We still have veggies, herbs and a few annuals.

Maybe you can see the birthday boy if you stop by during the week. You can find us outside in the gardens, greenhouse, barns or taking walks on the property. We are grateful every day to be able to share our days with our beautiful grandson. He’s the funniest, caring, handsome and most hard working little guy and we are beyond blessed to be loved by him. We love you Lennox! Thanks for being the bestest, silliest and sweetest helper!
