I swear some of these sunflowers have grown an inch or two in 24 hours. Things are really starting to take shape!

This evening I took a few things to Andrew at work. I decided to go to the property on my way home & check the 🌻 circles. After getting a good look at them, I decided to hand water the outermost circle. There's a pretty good section near the zinnias that are much smaller than the others & are struggling. The leaves are showing heat stress, in my opinion. With more 100°F+ days coming in the next 4 or 5 days, they were given a little more water. I hope they will pull thru & can rebound in the end. We will see what happens...

New seed update in the sunflower circles. We added new seeds to thicken up several areas. These seeds are 4 weeks behind the current sunflower plants. Andrew just finished mowing the circles & our visitors from next door kept busy foraging for bugs. They make me miss our old commercial girls. They are little vocal birds that are like curious puppies.

Memories from the beginning of our chicken keeping journey, 6 years ago. In May of 2020, we brought home 14 pullets. I got more than I initially planned because I expected some loss. Especially as first time chicken keepers. (Which we did not) The initial coop they were in was only temporary. We began building this coop for the flock. When we realized there was a boy in the flock, we had to find a home for him due to our city ordinance. The temporary coop ended up going to the friends farm with our accidental rooster & his favorite hen.
