Got this long-awaited roof repair completed for Pat Uitermarkt just in time for the current 'monsoon season". 😜Roof had been leaking for quite awhile so it required removing and replacing rotten sheathing and new water barrier and shingles. Also removed an old wood stove chimney and filled in the roof hole and another local contractor shingled both repairs.

The last 3 weeks have been brutal. It was 95 degrees everyday until it started raining last week and now everything is mud. Pretty hard to work outside. I did get an awesome deck mostly done. TimberTech PVC decking and Westbury aluminum railing. It just need skirting once it dries up. Check out the deck photos and video. The 28" deep stair steps were custom made to accommodate a person with a walker on each step. Please reach out if you need me to help you tackle your new deck or just clean up a long "honey-do" list.

What do you do when the HVAC vent is intruding onto your new deck? You make a deck bench to hide it without interfering with any airflow.

Finished up last Saturday’s project in Monday’s sweltering heat. New post wrap and cedar split rail corner fence. Thanks Brackett for trusting me with your project and Travis Mitchell for helping.

They say variety is the spice of life so maybe that’s true in the construction/handyman world too. This week’s projects included a tub door install, deck footings dug and poured, and De Scoop in Pella has new paper towel and soap dispensers. Had another Saturday project you’ll see early next week when it is fully completed. The heat is challenging but I’m still hustling as much as I can.

Wrapped up my career job this week and officially retired on Thursday. Went fishing with my boys and spent some time with Kelly Mitchell. Ready to hit the ground running Monday morning on a 10’ x 20’ deck demo and rebuild.
