A little bit of free ranging this afternoon. My sweet Dottie loves to snuggle. Thelma and Louise are always side by side. Mayzi fell asleep basking in the sun while Raven showed off her beautiful highlighted crest. Kingston and Elvis did a good job watching over their flock. Not all the ladies wanted to free range this time.

So...I did a thing today. These are Indio Gigante chicks. They are one of the biggest breeds in the world. Thy can get up to 3.5 - 4 feet tall. These little ladies are only 2 months old and are already the size of my full grown hens. I'm so excited to watch them grow. They will be my gentle giants. Now th hard part. What to name them. 🤔

EGG ALERT! This is what it sounds like when a hen lays an egg. Everyone knows about it. (Yes, they have that beautiful dual brooder box and they rather lay their eggs in the shavings on the ground 🙄)

I know it's been a while since I posted, but we are doing well. Trying to stay cool in the heat. We have been expanding our duck, run and got a new quack shack for them. I will have photos and videos coming soon. But in the meantime, it looks like I need to start wearing my egg collecting apron out to start getting eggs. I got 5 this afternoon and it was a little bit of a handful but they are beautiful! 😍

I can't wait until all my girls start laying. I have 1 of each of the hens listed below along with 6 other top laying hens. I'm going to have tons of eggs to give away so be ready. If you want on my list please let me know.

It's a really wet, rainy day here in SE Iowa. My girl Stella is having the worst hair day and she's not thrilled about it.😅
