I recently saw a post about it being difficult to find good quality NN and I couldn’t agree more! However, please don’t let that discourage you from making your own. It WILL be a labor of love, just like any other variety.
Six years ago, I started with a mediocre NN boy that I really didn’t even want. He was tall, non beaded, and just AWKWARD looking. Nonetheless, he was the foundational piece for my white showgirls and where my love story began! I used him and created several generations — then took any hens and used them with one of my absolute best standard roosters. From those pairings, I kept the best bearded NN and they will be the foundation for my next white families, once I can begin my breedings again 🥰🤍
Now, I’m not saying mine are perfect because they certainly still need some work, but I have created some that are quite the lookers! Anyway, my point here is…DON’T GIVE UP 💪🏽 Find a mediocre bird and use it to build upon!
