When I started my private chef business in 2006, I really could not have dreamed or envisioned all the joy, hard work, experiences & wonderful interesting grateful people I would encounter.
But here I am, never ever taking a moment like this for granted.
Mahalo to all my clients, past and present, for all the love. Ain’t life grand?

This summer just sings summer in a delicious voice.

Sliced stone fruit, basil, burrata, chives, butter lettuce, tiny perfect little local lettuce leaves are@drizzled with good olive oil & balsamic with California blackberries vinegar & dusted crunchy Maldon sea salt.

Any stone fruit will work. Have made this with plums, apricots and peaches but tonight it’s perfectly ripe nectarines.

I have always had a penchant to eat breakfast foods for dinner. When I was a kid, my Dad would travel for business, freeing up my Mom to get creative with feeding us kids an alternative evening meal.
We loved eating eggs, bacon or pancakes for dinner, so that childhood experience paints my adult preferences. Everyone has these kind of comfort food memories…right?

Here’s one of my go to’s when eating eggs for any meal.

Fried Egg Sandwich on GF Sourdough toast, melted Manchego cheese, a schmear of toum (grab the big tub of Toom brand at Costco…the Manchego too), a healthy heap of arugula, along with a couple locally sourced eggs (mahalo to O’Koa farms), sprinkle of sea salt & pepper, and bang…you’ve got a meal. The garlic-y spreadable deliciousness which is toum really makes this open-faced sand. Toum is a whipped raw garlic spread which packs a beautiful fresh garlic punch. Try it, you won’t regret it.
