🦝🔥 THE FAT RACCOON IS MAKING A CHANGE! 🔥🦝

We’ve got some BIG news coming out of The Fat Raccoon Eatery!

We are now frying in BEEF TALLOW! 🥩🔥

After listening to our customers and doing our own research into the growing concerns surrounding seed oils, we’ve decided to make the switch from conventional frying oils to beef tallow.

🥩 Why Beef Tallow?

Beef tallow is a traditional cooking fat that has been used for generations. It’s rendered from beef fat and is naturally rich in saturated and monounsaturated fats.

Unlike many modern frying oils, beef tallow is not a highly processed seed oil. It also has a high smoke point, making it well-suited for the high temperatures required for frying.

But there’s another reason we made the switch…

🍴 WE CARE ABOUT WHAT WE SERVE YOU.

At The Fat Raccoon, we believe that great food starts with great ingredients. As chefs, we pay attention not only to how our food tastes, but also to what goes into it.

There has been increasing discussion and concern among consumers about the widespread use of industrial seed oils such as soybean, canola, corn and sunflower oil. While the science surrounding seed oils and overall health is still actively debated, we believe our customers deserve choices and transparency about what we cook with.

So we’re going back to something simple and traditional:

🥩 Beef tallow.

And honestly… it makes some pretty damn good fried food. 😏🔥

Expect that rich, savory flavor and crispy texture you know and love from properly fried food.

🦝 WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

Going forward, our fried items will be prepared using beef tallow, rather than our previous frying oil.

That includes many of your favorites like our fried Cajun specialties and our favorited french fries.

Please note: Beef tallow is a beef-derived ingredient, so if you have dietary restrictions, allergies, or follow a specific diet, please ask us before ordering.

We’re always happy to tell you exactly what’s going into your food.
