🎉Birthday Boy🎉

Every farm needs a good farm dog. Elroy is the head of our security department and takes his job very seriously. In between naps, you can find him supervising field work (his favorite is the Christmas trees) or modeling for social media. Today he turns 3🎊

A week full of hay deliveries🛻

With chances of storms all week, we've been doing our best to get hay to all our customers. Deliveries have been going out everyday this week and there's still more to go!

Yes, we still have to handle bales by hand...

Unloading with our Norden Mfg grapple system has been a huge improvement from unloading kicker wagons. However, we still have our barn to fill which requires the good ole elevator and hand stacking method.

🌧IT'S RAINING!🌧

With rain on the horizon, we worked late last night ensuring all of our recently made hay was put away and protected from the elements. This also resulted in moving around equipment and getting creative to make sure everything made it back in the sheds. After the dry spell we had, we are excited to watch it rain and give our fields and pastures a much needed drink!

☀️This summer is off to an abnormally dry start. In the month of May, we had less than a half inch of rain, which is way below average.

This time of year our Christmas trees are actively growing, which makes moisture very crucial. With our sandy soils, irrigating has become an essential task the last few weeks. While it doesn't replace a rainfall, it will at least help us keep the trees alive, especially the newest transplants.

Our oldest field has drip lines which is a very efficient method but requires a lot of maintenance. It is also a very slow process. The rest of our fields utilize the watering gun which can cover a larger area at a time.

Hopefully we can get some rain in the near future🤞🌧
