farm friends,

wintertime has revealed some heartbreaking reflections and devastating decisions ... we [Kate + Chris] are parting ways and thus will be putting to rest all event and produce operations, as we had envisioned at least. we are forever for the opportunity to nourish our neighbors in the numerous ways we have 🥬🐓🍉🧚🏼‍♀️🌻

love surround us and continues to be felt between us, but obviously this a painful experience and we appreciate privacy as we navigate this process 🙏 for the support we know will continue to weave into our lives as we untangle our current reality.

to those of you who pre-ordered garlic, be on the lookout for a follow up email in the week(s) to come 🧄 as you’ll see from the photo, our crop continues to grow and by no means does so in vain. for your patience and understanding as we sort out our options 🌱

memories of this land, venture, and journey together will forever remained etched into the chambers of our hearts. the soil here is richer because of the hands that have come to tend it, the bodies that have communed with the birds, moss, pond, and wildflowers - all of it so sacred and cherished 🪱🪺🐾🦋

in the wake of Imbolc, we honor this change of season and pray for warming light 🌼 the yellow crocuses are blooming and flocks of robins have been dancing in our golden field. may we breathe in the fresh seeds of spring and experience the growth that emerges from dark earth.

our vision of nourishment and community lives within the mycelium and will continue to fruit in mysterious and magical ways 🍄 in honor of our vision, please prioritize local makers and seasonal produce; spend as much time outside as possible 🌞

The 2024 South Carolina Agriculture Career Pathways Program application is open! This program provides early-career education to those interested in pursuing a career or degree in agriculture. Participants will hear from various agriculture experts covering topics such as career planning, racial equity in agriculture, types of agriculture careers, ag education, and human resources/ interview training. As the darkest days of the year descend upon us, we will be closing up our garlic shop to focus on plans for 2024. So, this is the last reminder to secure your crop before it is harvested and distributed in June!

‘tis the season 🧑‍🎄

brought over bags of fresh kale, collards, and canned goods for the pantry that neighbors our farm🥫🙏❣️ for the support of our CSA members who chose to share a share as part of their grate crate subscription 🥬 and to Zizza for sprinkling us with senior-friendly sustenance during our cookie decorating event🍝🍪

it’s a wonder what this organization accomplishes on a weekly basis, just beyond our wood line. hundreds of families are able to access food because of their grassroots, volunteer-run efforts.

as part of our garlic pre-order program, you are able to donate produce to this food pantry. for any order placed thru 12pm Wednesday, we’ll match each $10 you spend and gift it in garlic bundles to our neighbors 🧄

all pre-orders include a digital booklet with recipes + tips; garlic is grown in community without any chemicals 😇

stop by the American Legion Farmers Market in Sumter anytime between 12pm-5pm this Friday to get some produce from Paxville✨

we rehomed our goats 🐐

Billy + Moose brought us a lot of joy, but they also represented additional responsibility (and costs) that we simply didn't want to shoulder at this time.

they now live happily in Manning; we think of them every time there are excess veggies, which our chickens now get to enjoy 🐔 strangely enough, just a few days after the goats left, our girls started laying 🥚 tis the season of letting go; for making room for things to come.

savoring memories of them on this Monday 🌧️ our soil and smiles will forever be better because of these boys 🙏
