Happy Saturday!! ☀️

We got some rain so the eggs got a little muddy but can you spot the double yolk egg?! Fun fact, one of our Americanas lays a double yolk, huge duck size egg at least once a month during peak season. She hadn’t laid one since early fall because of the cold temps. We also got a new egg on the bottom right with a heavy bloom. Not to mention a full dozen today. Hello Spring!!

First up for our expanding adventure was getting a new coop! It was delivered a couple weeks ago and is gorgeous!! We are so excited to have 2 coop options now. We plan to paint and update our old coop to match and we will have a large covered run. I am sure it will be a long build out process but making something that works better for us is worth it! If you know me, you know I’m frugal. I waited and waited to find a coop that posted for a very reasonable price and now I’ve sourced metal roofing for the run completely free! Eek! I am very excited to see it come along!

Hey everyone! I decided to make a page for everyone to follow our egg journey! We will be experimenting this Spring and Summer with incubating eggs and I want to share what we learn along the way. Get ready because we will have chicks, pullets and even hatching eggs available! Here are some pictures of hatching eggs we are currently on the list to get. I am so excited to start this venture! I will include gardening info too as we get into the season 🌟
