Sometimes we get caught up in the what-ifs of life, but today the flocks, herds, sounders, and all of the guardians of 4Pause Farm remind us that today is itself a gift. While it can seem cliche to say “the present is a gift “, it really is true, so why not embrace the beauty of today.

If you are a mom, a sister, an auntie, a grandmother (or Mimi ❤️), a spiritual mom, a bonus mom, a dog mom, a chicken momma, or otherwise, we wish you all the blessings of the present. You matter, and this world is a better place because of you, your heart, and your love.

Here at 4Pause, we are constantly amazed at how hard and how rewarding this life is. After losing one hive to robbers then having another swarm (which we caught initially but could not convince to stay), we are grateful for the small bounty of our honey harvest.
This is the first that we have fully harvested ourselves from hive, to uncapping the cells then spinning and filtering to the beautiful (delicious!) liquid gold we get to share with all of you! 🍯

While we wait for rain, the animals are staying busy. Yesterday we welcomed our first ever Australorp-Bantam cross chick. After an initial challenge of the egg membrane wrapped around her torso, she is looking bright and energetic this morning. We hope to sneak her back into the coop tonight, Lord willing!

There have been many changes here at 4Pause since our last update post. 🤩
After welcoming Dooley 🥰, our new Dexter herd sire then Selah❤️, our first Dexter bull calf, we connected with the great people behind Stay’n Put farm to welcome our Nubian herd sire, Caleb, to the farm. 🐐He just started to acclimate when Petra made her arrival one chilly Thursday night in the company of the herd and this very proud farm mom. 🤩
While chicks are now hatching out, the blooms are making their appearances too, and soon we will be picking blackberries, sunflowers, and figs! Spring has definitely sprung here at 4Pause. We are still working on launching our milking program, and the bees 🐝 have been less than cooperative, but take heart… all in perfect timing!

The first kunes 🐽 will go to processing in early June, as well as one cow. We will be offering the kunes in halves or whole pig. If you are in S Georgia or N Florida, DM to reserve yours as these pasture-raised, non gmo feed supplemented larders will go fast!
