Did you know that a change in meat color doesn’t automatically mean it’s gone bad?

Fresh beef is bright red when exposed to oxygen, but over time it can turn brownish/red or even grayish. This natural process called oxidation is completely normal. Color alone isn’t a reliable indicator of freshness.

✨ Bonus fact: Aging beef actually makes it more tender and flavorful! During the aging process, natural enzymes break down muscle fibers, creating that rich, buttery texture you find in premium steaks.

When checking if meat is still good, don’t rely on color alone. Instead, look for:
✔️ Proper refrigeration
✔️ A fresh, clean smell
✔️ A firm (not slimy) texture
