After a lot of tears, thoughts and reflection, I've made the difficult decision to close The BFIT Bakery.
This wasn't an easy decision. This bakery has been a labor of love, and I'm incredibly thankful for every customer, every market morning, every order, and every person who supported this dream.
Over the past few years, the sourdough era has changed, and it has become increasingly difficult for my bakery to remain financially sustainable. As a licensed and insured cottage bakery, I've always chosen to operate within Alabama's cottage food laws, even when that meant higher costs and more responsibility. Those standards matter to me because I believe my customers deserve products made safely, legally, and with integrity. I have never been willing to compromise those values.
At the same time, life has changed. Between my career, my family, and pursuing new personal goals, I realized I could no longer give the bakery the time and attention it deserves. Rather than do it halfway, I've chosen to step away knowing I stayed true to my principles from beginning to end.
I don't share this out of bitterness. I simply want to be honest about why I'm closing this chapter. I'm proud of what The BFIT Bakery became and even more proud that I built it on quality, honesty, and integrity.
To every person who bought a loaf of bread, a cookie, a cake, or simply shared a kind word thank you. You made this journey more meaningful than I could have imagined.
While The BFIT Bakery is closing its doors, my love for baking isn't going anywhere. Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is recognize when it's time to turn the page and trust that something new is waiting in the next chapter. (Who knows maybe one day I'll be in a position to reopen)
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me and always supporting this little bakery. It has been an incredible journey, and I'll always be grateful. ❤️
