The Circle of Life on the Farm 🌿🐐
Today was herb harvest day here at One More Farm!
The day started with baskets full of fresh herbs from the garden. After bringing them inside, each variety was cleaned, sorted, labeled, and placed into drying racks where they'll slowly dry over the next week or so.
Before long, these herbs will be tucked away in glass jars, ready to season soups, roasts, vegetables, breads, and so much more. There's something incredibly satisfying about knowing exactly where your seasonings came from—grown, harvested, dried, and preserved by your own hands.
And, of course, nothing goes to waste on the farm.
The stems, trimmings, and extra greens became a special treat for our goats, who were more than happy to help with the cleanup. Watching them enjoy every last bite is a reminder that everything on the farm has a purpose.
This is one of my favorite parts of homesteading—the cycle of life. We grow it, harvest it, preserve it, share what we don't use with the animals, and start all over again. Every season brings another opportunity to learn, grow, and appreciate where our food comes from.
