We love this big American Flag in our exam arena, and it reminds us every day of the wonderful country we live in and the sacrifices made to preserve it. If you're out enjoying your horse in any way today, share a picture to this post - we'd love to see!

Dr. Ari vaccinating this wonderful boy Cody!

We’ve seen both EHV-1 and EHV-4 cases here in Nevada County over the past couple of weeks. These viruses are the “Rhino” portion of the Flu/Rhino vaccine, and with rodeo and show season ramping up, now is the perfect time to make sure your horses are current on their vaccinations.

Vaccinating helps reduce the risk of illness and helps protect the larger equine community by limiting the spread of disease between horses. Whether you’re hauling to jackpots, rodeos, shows, or clinics, keeping your horse up to date is one of the best ways to keep them healthy and performing their best.

Schedule those spring vaccines and let’s keep our horses safe this season!

This is a frequent sight at the Gateway office-- Dr. Harms putting together exam findings, x-ray and ultrasound imaging, and anatomy/biomechanics to make the best possible diagnosis and treatment plan for each horse that comes in for care. All of us at Gateway work to have a "growth mindset" and keep learning every day!

Meet Max! Max found himself hooked up to IV fluids and supervising Dr. Corey while he wrote his records—all because Max doesn’t like to drink water. Don’t be like Max… make sure you (and your horses) stay hydrated!
