I posted this on Jan 15, 2015 announcing that wē had decided to close our farm because the pluses no longer would exceed the minuses.

“It was a very difficult decision to discontinue tomato farming because of the 35 workers who lost their jobs. But, if we stayed we would have jeopardized the whole farm and the next generation would not have continued farming. In farming like in anything else, the pluses must exceed the minuses or you have to go do something else. We are confident that others can fill the void and we wish them well. As tough as it was to make the decision, we just needed to adapt to change.”

I cut my way through another group of Fiddlewood on the side that I had sprayed several months ago. I used a chainsaw to make the path safe and allowed me to get to the live Fiddlewood clump. I can now treat the larger Fiddlewood trees with a machete or drilling and squirting straight Round Up Glyphosate. It takes very little to do the job.
