Good morning, peeps! ☀️🐓

Y'all, I just love the different colors our girls give us! 🥚❤️ And look at that bloom with speckles😍

It's the little things around here that make me smile!

It's going to be another busy day! I'll be getting dough prepped for Friday's bread baking, and by request, I'll be making a few bars of unscented goat milk soap!

Saturday's farmers market will be here before we know it! 😂🌻

Hope y'all have a blessed Thursday! ❤️

Good morning 🧡 Y'all know I love making homemade bread! 🍞❤️ Now I'm curious… what's your favorite kind of bread? Do you like yours sweet, white, wheat, Italian, cheesy, sourdough, or just good ol' plain bread? Me, I don't think there's much better than a warm slice of homemade bread with butter on it! 😋 Tell me what kind you like!

New feathers, who dis? 🪶💁🏼‍♀️🐔

Did you know chickens typically molt once a year? During this time, they shed their old feathers and grow a fresh new set! It's completely natural, but it takes a lot out of them. Feathers are made mostly of protein, so growing new ones requires a lot of energy. That's why you may notice your hens slowing down or even stopping egg production during their molt. Their bodies are busy putting that energy into growing feathers instead of making eggs! A little extra protein, good nutrition, and plenty of rest can help them through it.

It may not be their prettiest
season, but just look at my Splash Ameraucana results! 😍🐓

Calm before the storm! 🍂🐮

The cows don't have a care in the world, and here we are trying to get everything around the farm secured before this hurricane gets here! 😂 Thankfully, it doesn't look like we'll take a direct hit from this hurricane, but we're preparing for whatever weather comes our way! Praying this storm moves through quickly and everyone in its path stays safe! ❤️🙏

My Blue & Splash Ameraucanas along with my Wellies are STILL working their way through molt, so we're only getting a few of those beautiful eggs each day. 💙🥚I'm trying to be patient, but I sure am ready to see those egg baskets FULL again! 😂 For now, the girls are putting all that energy into growing fresh feathers and getting themselves ready for another laying season.
Farm life definitely teaches you that everything has a season, even full egg baskets. 🤍🐓

Happy Monday, peeps! 💙
West Virginia did not disappoint! Every single stop had something beautiful to offer. From hiking trails with incredible mountain views, to walking beneath the 3rd highest bridge in the United States, to simply spending time together and making memories this trip was one for the books. 🥾⛰️ We saw so much of God’s beautiful creation, laughed a whole lot, wore our legs slap out 😂, and made memories with our sweet family that I’ll treasure forever. West Virginia, you sure are beautiful! 💙 Until next time!
