I love a fresh from Sardinia (or Corsica). Stone fruit, lemon peel, and a touch of salinity from those island vineyards. Yummy!

Just sampled this 2001 Grapes of Roth Merlot from double magnum stores at the winery. The winemaker’s first vintage in the Hamptons. Very much alive and kicking. Deep color, complex nose of secondary aromas, and a moderate length of finish. What a treat.

This wine is a classic “killer” cab. Huge fruit bomb, alcohol to the point of hints of sweetness (although not sweet). Without decanting, it is all up front with that tear the enamel off of your teeth. If you decant, you may get some nuance, then again, if you wanted nuance, you could do something else.

This has plenty of dark red fruits and full round tannins. It took 45 minutes to open up and had yet to give up those secondary aromas. Let’s check again in 5 years.

Great Cab Franc tasting. Check out the 2010 Estate CF. Plenty of fruit and developing well. At peak? The Chinon was also a surprise as it was full of fresh fruit with a long finish.
