We appreciate your interest in our Hatfield® brand pork and learning more about how we honor and respect our animals. We share your passion for the ethical treatment of all animals and are happy to share more about how we operate and bring our brands to market.
At Hatfield® there’s a greater sense of purpose in everything we do. As an American, family-owned business with more than 120 years of history, we’ve always believed in doing the right thing, not the new thing.
We’re driven by a conviction that our business isn’t just about quality products, but it’s about our commitment to a higher operating standard and accountability to our animals, farmers, community and you! We take great care in raising our animals on family farms, without the use of hormones, steroids or growth promotants. We are focused on sustainability for our planet, people and animals through our health and wellness programs, charitable giving, living wage and workforce development.
Our family owned business brings fresh, quality pork products to retail and foodservice customers under the Hatfield, Prima Porta and Farm Promise brands. We are a vertically coordinated company that owns farms (Country View Family Farms), food production and transport (PVTransport). We serve customers and consumers from 3 locations – Hatfield, Pennsylvania, Emmaus Pennsylvania and Coldwater Michigan.
Our pork comes from American Family Farms. Clemens Food Groups uses a network of company owned and family owned farms to supply hogs to its manufacturing facilities. Our Family Farms are located in the following regions:

We have been blessed with much, and have much to give back.
To us, building a foundation for the future means not only taking care of our people, animals and environment, it means enriching the communities in which we live and work. Because of the resources we have been blessed with, we have the ability to touch thousands of lives in our community. We recognize that only through strong company values and the efforts of our team members does this become a reality.
Since 1895, CFG has supported our community through financial contributions, product donations and volunteering.
As an organization we are committed to give 10% of our profits back to the community each year. We are involved in giving to hundreds of charities and non-profits. Here a few of the non profit organizations we are proud to support:
American Red Cross
American Cancer Society
North Penn United Way
Salvation Army
Relay for Life
National Multiple Sclerosis Society
Walk Against Hunger
Eagles Fly for Leukemia
In addition to monetary donations, our team members are highly involved in giving our time, volunteering in many events throughout the year. And because of our position in the food industry we have the capability to have a significant impact against hunger and are heavily involved with Philabundance, the local food bank for the city of Philadelphia.
It’s not just our company, but our team members too
So many of our team members give back and in honor of that commitment we have developed a Matching Gift program. That means we can double donations our team members give to a charity of their choice. We’ll match their donation, dollar for dollar, up to $500 per team member per year. Or team members can volunteer their time over the course of the year and we’ll give a donation to a charity of their choosing based on the number of volunteer hours logged.
We don’t give back for the notoriety – we give back because we are blessed and we want others to share in that blessing
For more than 120 years, Clemens Food Group has used heritage breeds in our entire animal processing system. This means that the animals are bred primarily from a genetic makeup that contains any of the following United States recognized/prominent modern heritage swine breeds: Duroc, Large White, Landrace, Hampshire, and/or Yorkshire.
As a consumer of pork you might hear or may have seen various breeds highlighted on packaging and on menus – breeds like Berkshire and Duroc are the most common. At Clemens Food Group, we use some of the same breeds in all of our brands like Hatfield® .
We are taking the time to share our story and our animal breeds so that you as a consumer can be informed about our products and understand where your food comes from. We want you to have confidence that Hatfield® and Clemens Food Group takes great pride in our products.
