This happened today! I told y’all the incubator was chirping yesterday. I’m disappointed though. These were the last four eggs my Cochins laid before they were taken out. These are not pure Cochins 😕

I can NOT wait for the rain 🌧️ to stop for awhile!! Everything is under water 💦. Currently working to clean the girls barn out and water and mud is over my feet. Which makes the bedding 1000X heavier. A couple storms back did some serious damage to the roof of the girls and unfortunately I can not get up there and replace it. So I’ve rednecked it as best as I could until Kenny comes in next month.

I’m def getting my cardio in today. Whew. Locked them outside while I clean and those fools found a way to climb to jump back in just so they can be all up on me. Idiots. Freaking idiots 🤪 It’s too humid for this 💩 today. But it’s got to get done. And then rain tonight and tomorrow 🥳🙄😤 The garden is loving all the rain and humidity. At least something is 😂

The pigs 🐷 love it. They’ve got all kinds of mud so they’re living their best lives at the moment. They’re idiots too 🤪 I don’t enjoy swimming in this 💩

Let’s talk about chicken math! How? How do you go from 4 to 104? Like overnight they just show up. At least it seems that way!

I needed to replace birds after our predator issue. I’ve got more birds currently than I ever have. And now we don’t just have chickens and ducks. Turkeys and guineas appeared outta nowhere. Make it make sense, y’all 🫣🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Ella has something she needs to get off her shoulders!

Can we stop selling animals “with papers” just bc we have them. This is why there are soooo many animals out there unworthy to breed. If you’ll cull them from your herd, why would you not band them and send them on their way. That’s literally one of the things I learned my first year in school. So you don’t want their traits, but you’re willing to send them off to be somebody else’s problem. No! Band them and don’t sell with papers. Just bc you can, doesn’t mean you should. Do better! And if you don’t know better, than reach out to a mentor so you can learn.

God works in mysterious ways. This was DarkRai. We didn’t have her long. She got coccidia and it took her down so fast. Even with treatment she just never was able to come back from it. (She is why all our babies start preventative at 3 weeks of age) I was devastated. My son was heartbroken. And still is. Today I spoke to the couple we bought her from. He informed me he has three bucklings he wants me to come look at before he posts them on pages. He knows if he had one that resembles her, we would want it. And it just so happens that we will need to add another buck for the girls we kept that are Memphis’. I’m so eager to go see these guys. Due to already scheduled appts I’m not able to get there til next week, but he was fine with that. I’d make Logan sooo happy if I brought home one that looks like she did
