Thousand Hills Farm is a small grassfed-only herd which offers direct-to-consumer sales of beef shares in 1/4, 1/2, and whole beef formats. Thousand Hills Farm branched out from what was initially a conglomerated agricultural operation offering hunt-seat equine instruction, hay, forage, small grain, and grassfed beef productio

n. In order to focus efforts, the grassfed herd and forage production operations were combined. There is LIMITED AVAILABILITY, but we do like to have folks on the waiting list.

We are saying the praises of thatStay-Tuff Fence 9-49-12-660 at Hunter Oaks After storms came through last week. Sure the tree came down and the wire came down but as soon as we cut the tree off it stood right back up. We thought we were gonna have to snip and re-pull the whole section but it looks like we’re gonna be able to put our staples back in new holes and go on with it. The good news is we can put our cows back in this field with confidence And the finishing of the repairs still pending.

Spent the better part of the morning fixing a John Deere round baler 459SS engineering defect. Got her up and running. And put 62 rolls on the ground, blew the round baler off, went back to the square baler.

That one field of the SeedWay, LLC Alfa-sow was pushing 5.94 4x5 rolls per acre.

Got the essentials with the flashlight and binoculars in the truck. Calving is upon us. After last year, we made the operational decision that EVERY new calf will get PUSH from Genex Cooperative just to make sure they have enough readily-available energy to get through those first few cold nights. It’s gonna be a week on the calving front.
