America is Not for the Weak⬇️
And I don’t mean physically weak. I mean emotionally, mentally, spiritually.
America will test you.
It will test how much you believe in yourself when you start from zero.
It will test your patience while waiting for papers, approvals, stability.
It will test your heart when you miss birthdays, fiestas, and simple merienda moments back home.
Being Filipino here means you carry more than just your own dreams. You carry your family’s sacrifices. You carry the “ikaw ang pag-asa” expectation. You carry resilience that feels like it’s built into you since birth.
Hindi madali mag-adjust.
You learn to speak up more.
You learn to be independent.
You learn to survive without your usual support system.
You learn that homesickness can hit anytime — in a grocery aisle, in the smell of rice, in a random song that reminds you of home.
America is not for the weak because it forces you to grow fast. Walang safety net. Walang masyadong excuses. You either level up or you get left behind.
But Filipinos are not weak.
We are adaptable.
We are hardworking.
We are resilient.
We know how to build something even when we start with nothing.
Every long workday, every rejection, every delay, every closed door — it shapes you. It strengthens you. It humbles you.
America is not for the weak.
But maybe that’s exactly why we’re here — because we are stronger than we ever realized.

Still adjusting. Still learning. Still becoming.
