Throwback to that time we thought shearing our babydoll sheep would be “easy.”

Let me tell you, it was anything but.

It took a total of four cumulative days to get these poor souls looking somewhat normal and this was the end result.

I thought we had pictures of the “in-between,” but we were clearly too ashamed to capture that memory.

Here’s to Fake Farmers™, trying to make it through on the daily, doing the best we can.

By the way, we now hire professionals for the shearing!

One thing we’ve learned while building Fake Farmers is that if we’re going to put our name on something, it has to be something we’d actually wear ourselves - it sounds cliché, but it’s the truth 🤷🏻‍♀️

When we started choosing apparel for the brand, we spent a lot of time looking beyond just how a shirt looked. We wanted pieces that could handle real life—feeding animals in the summer heat, mowing fields, hauling feed, chasing escaped livestock, or just running into town afterward without needing a wardrobe change.

That’s why many of the items we offer are lightweight, moisture-wicking, breathable, and durable enough to keep up with long days outside. We also try to choose eco-friendly options whenever possible. While not every product in our lineup meets every sustainability goal, we work hard to find the best balance between comfort, durability, affordability, performance, and environmental impact.

At the end of the day, we’re not interested in selling clothes that sit in a drawer. We want to offer apparel that works as hard as the people wearing it.

Because whether you’re a lifelong farmer, a first-generation homesteader, or just figuring it out as you go, you’ve probably got enough challenges already. Your shirt shouldn’t be one of them.
