Hickory Lake Farm

Hickory Lake Farm We are Kiko and TN Fainting (Myotonic) Goat breeders, registered and unregistered stock. We also raise Brahma chickens, Rouen ducks, and guineas. Come visit!

We help new backyard farmers. OUR FARM STORY: My husband and I share a love of nature. We love to spend time outside and we love to grow things, plants and animals included. We are practical and simple people and try to live in ways that honor those values. We believe in being good stewards of what we have been given, so when we acquired my parents’ beautiful farmhouse and 20-acre property, we de

cided to turn it into a working farm. The idea of enhancing the property’s productivity and adding to its biodiversity was really exciting to us. The opportunity to involve our children in raising produce and livestock seemed a priceless blessing! We want our family’s lifestyle to be one that continuously reminds us of the beauty and utility of God’s creation. And, we aim to invite our friends and neighbors into the joy of living in simple and self-sustaining ways wherever they are planted too!

The Pink Lemonade blueberries are the first to ripen and they are showing up so much better than we expected! Lots of the early blooms got zapped by the frost, so we were not expecting much. It's almost jam and jelly season around here!!!

We took some kids to college this morning to participate in the Southeastern Buck Performance Test at Mississippi State University. This is our first time to test our genetics and we are excited to see how they do! It was really cool to watch the vet students work the goats to get baseline data. We also met some awesome new goat friends and had lunch at Oby's. 🐐
