Day nine of recovering from total knee replacement. I created ALL of these arrangements today and rode along to the delivery to their locations. 8 hours of standing, bending, getting up and down off of a high work stool and walking to and from. I know I will sleep well tonight! Sending appreciations to friends and family who helped gather, harvest, and deliver these beauties.

My grandmother Shirley's favorite summer flower was gladiolus. I love them, too. I featured these locally grown beauties at the third Concerts at 7 performance on Monday August 24. Thanks to Berkshire Stone Builders for growing the blooms, my husband Peter who delivered them to me so I could arrange (4 days post knee replacement) and then placed them in the Plainfield Church sanctuary space. Four days post total knee replacement and getting good rest. Feeling the tug of flower fields and grateful for family and friends who are caring, fetching, listening and supporting. ❤️

A million things to do before my total knee replacement tomorrow. And I chose to spend time in the flower field. Listening to the hummers chirp and the bees buzz. Wish me luck on the journey to “team titanium” TYIA. 💕

From field to venue in less than 24 hours! I crafted these floral displays for the second of four "Concerts at 7" at the Plainfield church. These include three types of hydrangea, joe pye w**d, lisianthus, raspberry foliage, saponaria, sedum, and zinnia. Special thanks to Erin at South Meadow Farm for the zinnia (as my crop didn't do well this year). There are two more concerts - Monday August 24 and August 31st. At 7 p.m.

Gorgeous day. Harvesting rudbeckia, sedum, verbena, mint and other bits and bobs. Lots of pollinator sightings in the process. ☀️

I'm happy to create (and donate) the floral arrangements in our town's acoustically spectacular church for the four-part "Concerts at 7" chamber music series. Tonight is the first concert. Some of the flowers this evening are sourced from Tip Top Orchard in Buckland and I am grateful for the camaraderie of the western mass flower growing community to share blooms when my capacity is limited.
