Today was a good day even with a rough cook. No excuses just exhausted, Tried something different, but it cost us. I put 7 thighs in the box and the judges told me what they thought. Not good, I wont ever do that again. Ribs were good, but landed us in the middle. Only saving grace was the pork. Judges loved it.

Thanks to all that continue to support me. My son Josh who has put a lot of time in helping me get the trailer done. My wife Kim Richards Maskill who has been a rockstar at comps this year. African Charcoal Company for keeping the drum fed putting that great flavor into my pork.

Pork 1st with a 180
Dessert 14
Cocktail 2nd

Come on Friday, this was the first comp we ever did. I heard there are 34 teams this year. Outstanding!!

A few weeks away from the first comp I ever did. Hands down my favorite comp, despite never pleasing the judges. Maybe this year will be different with the help of African Charcoal Company in my drums.

It has been a busy weekend so far, made a butt last night to take to Jessie Binkley and his race team. And then left the “Rim” racetrack and headed to Adams Tn to watch a couple buddies with their pulling tractors. Now on the smoker are a few butts and a brisket for a long time family friends graduation party.

Kim is a rock star, she kills it when she is here with all she does. Turn ins from this weekend. Chicken cost us, but still a great day. Those tritip fajitas though with that 180

We went and played in Murfreesboro at the KCBS boro bbq bash. Our 3rd year doing this comp and we were put in time out. We had to be put on the other side of the creek due to our site being too muddy.

We had a good day as we managed a 4th place overall.

Chicken 12th
Ribs 3rd
Anything butt 3rd. With a 180!
