I repurposed an old quilt! I found this quilt in June and it was in rough shape. It had holes in 2 of the blocks. And the base material that the quilter used was bizarre. It has the feel of a painters drop cloth from the home improvement store. It didn’t make for a comfy cozy quilt. So I had an idea to take 6 of the blocks and make a few roomy tote bags. Then I took the smaller corner blocks and made zipper pouches. I love how they turned out! And they’ll be available tomorrow .night.market

Let’s try this again! I had a nice post all typed up about our vacation and shop updates and as soon as I hit “publish” the FB app crashed. 🤬

Anyways! It’s been a while since I’ve posted! We had 7 months straight of travel softball and baseball for our kids. Some weeks, we had practices, games and tournaments 7 days a week.

We took some time off last week and went camping in Massachusetts in the Cape Code area. It was a great experience and we saw so many new things!

Now we’re back and I’m getting ready for my first summer market this weekend! I’ll be at the Toledo Night Market on Saturday in downtown Toledo from 6-10:30.

And two more grad quilts headed home! I’m winding down my orders for the summer. I have 4 left to complete for June and then I’m going to take a break from quilts to work on fun quilty items for my craft shows for the rest of the year while enjoying the time off with my kiddos.

I finished a quilt this week and it was something a little new for me! I usually only work with larger shirts (teen/adult size). Baby clothes are tricky because they are tiny and way more stretchy than normal t-shirts. I worked with another quilt maker who works daily with baby clothes in quilts and she helped me through the process. It was so nice to have her as a resource! I’m so happy with how it turned out and the little fella who picked it up today seemed super happy with it too!

Now that I have one under my belt, I want to work out the kinks and maybe sometime in the next year, I’ll be able to start making more quilts with baby clothes!

I’m working hard on my last batch of grad quilts! While I was piecing one together today, I decided to load and quilt this beauty! I found this quilt top at an antique store and could t leave it behind. It has minor blemishes and no tears or rips. I found a sunny floral print fabric to use in the back and finally started quilting it. I started at 11AM and stopped at 3 to pick up my kiddo from school. I still have two more rows to finish tonight. This quilt will be available for sale next week.

I finished up my donation quilt to the Farrand Elementary Spring picnic! I used donated shirts and some minky scraps for the backing. And because their mascot is a fox, I found the cutest quilting design that I hope the kids will love! Hopefully it helps bring in donations for our kiddos at the school!

I squeezed in a little quilting today for a raffle quilt! I’m donating a Farrand Fox t-shirt quilt to my son’s school raffle for their spring picnic. Hopefully it will help raise money for the kiddos later this month!
