Behind the scenes make process for one of our most unique cheeses: TomaRashi 🌶️

TomaRashi is our classic buttery Toma cheese infused with a Shichimi Togarashi, a traditional Japanese spice blend made with chili flakes, orange peel, ginger, and toasted nori. Fun fact: while traditional Togarashi blends include sesame seeds (one of the top 9 FDA-recognized allergens) but we swapped them out with Nigella seeds to keep our blend allergen-free✨

What a day to remember ✨

We had the absolute joy of welcoming and his incredible team last Friday, and the farm truly showed off for the occasion. Blue skies, green pastures, and happy cows set the stage for an unforgettable visit.
 
It was such a pleasure to walk José through the rye grass, introduce him to the herd, and share what goes into every wheel we make. Watching his excitement as he tasted through our cheeses was a highlight. Safe to say Quinta and our three blues made a lasting impression. 💙
 
Beyond the cheese, what really stood out was Jose’s genuine curiosity, warmth, and deep appreciation of food and the people behind it. We also loved getting to know his amazing team—such an inspiring group doing extraordinary work.
 
All in all, an incredible day with a true culinary icon and humanitarian hero—one we’ll be smiling about for a long time. Thank you, José, for spending part of your Bay Area adventures with us! 🧀

The only Memorial Day grilling inspo you need: hot dogs topped with Point Reyes Cheese.
