The story of the cutest babies that weren't supposed to happen:
About 5 weeks ago I attended a show in Northern Indiana. It was a night show and I stayed over that night to avoid driving the 3+ hours home in the dark. I didn't sleep much that night due to eating some j***y fast food. I'll spare you the details, but little camp toilet got quite the christening that night π¬ The next morning I headed home, and got everyone settled. Now, I have 3 sibling tort Dutch from the same litter that look remarkably similar. 2 are does, one is a buck. One of the does stayed home due to a hiccup in her markings, but the other doe who still lived in the same cage as her sister, went to the show along with the brother who had his own bachelor pad. I was miserably tired unloading everyone and you can probably already guess what happened. Fast forward to the next show a couple weeks later and I start pulling buns out getting ready to load up and I completely freak out! The "doe" I had put in with the little sister who stayed home was in fact the brother!!!!!! And little sister is looking pleasantly plump π€¦ββοΈ Today she gave birth to 5 healthy little kits and seems to be doing a great job mothering them! We shall see what happens as they develop whether this accident is a happy one or a total flub! π But for now, we'll just enjoy the cute babies and try to forget their family tree has fewer branches than most!
