It was a busy weekend at Valais Iowa as we worked alongside several FFA members getting their purebred Valais Blacknose ewe lambs ready for the Iowa State Fair FFA Sheep Show!

One of the things we’re most excited about this year is seeing Valais Blacknose projects represented by FFA chapters from across Iowa. It’s a great opportunity to introduce fairgoers, FFA members, and future livestock enthusiasts to this incredible breed.

🐑 A huge shoutout to Mallory Bruhn and her FFA advisor, Ashley Wiebe, for introducing Muscatine County Fair visitors to the amazing Valais Blacknose breed!

Mallory exhibited Iowa Nilla, our very first F5 Domestic Purebred, sired by Iowa Kobra Kai. Even more impressive, this was Mallory’s first-ever experience showing sheep, and she earned a Top 5 finish in Senior Showmanship! 👏

The Muscatine FFA chapter has built an incredible Agriculture Learning Center and an outstanding FFA program that gives students opportunities to explore all aspects of agriculture. Throughout her FFA career, Mallory has shown horses, cattle, swine, and now sheep—all while growing up as a town kid. That’s exactly what FFA is all about: creating opportunities, building confidence, and developing tomorrow’s agricultural leaders.

We’re honored that Valais Iowa could be a small part of Mallory’s journey. 💙💛
