Running deliveries today took me farther out than usual.

I was stressed.

Rushing home for my daughter’s graduation party.

Thinking about the next thing, the next stop, the next task.

Then this road appeared.

Old Florida.
Oak trees dripping in Spanish moss.
The river sparkling through the branches.

I had to keep driving.

But I promised myself I’d come back one day soon with a journal, a blanket, and nowhere else to be.

Just sit under these oaks and stare at the water for a while.
