Today, that looks like charcuterie boards + boxes, individual servings, grazing tables styled on-site & an extended menu for gatherings that call for a little more. Every order is built around high-quality ingredients, intentional presentation + all the little details that make everything feel polished, personal + complete.

All the awards. All the records. All the success. And somehow, when people talk about her legacy, so much of the conversation comes back to her kindness, generosity & how much good she quietly put back into the world.

Build the thing. Take the chance. Stay in the game. But above all, be someone worth remembering for more than what you accomplished.

Well, here we are. One year + three months later, and Black Fig & Co. was just voted Best Caterer of 2026. I mean… WHAT?!!

I know I say this all the time, but when you own a small business, you really do have to stop long enough to celebrate all the wins. This is definitely one I want to sit in for a minute. Fifteen months ago, Black Fig was brand new. It was an idea I believed in so deeply. To be here now, typing the words Best Caterer of 2026, is honestly mind-boggling.

I am so incredibly proud of my business. Proud of how much it has grown, proud of the standard I’ve worked really hard to maintain, & proud of every board, every table, every tiny detail, every early morning, late night, lesson learned + every bit of heart that has gone into building it. But I think what makes this one hit a little differently is knowing that all of that has been seen, supported + celebrated by the people around me.

To every person who has ordered from Black Fig, trusted me with your gathering, told a friend, shared a post, left a review, recommended me in a neighborhood group, booked me again, or simply cheered me on from the sidelines, THANK YOU! Truly. There is no Black Fig without the people who continue to invite me into their birthdays, showers, weddings, closings, holidays, celebrations + all of those ordinary days that simply deserve something beautiful on the table.

This past year has taught me so much about growth, about trusting myself, & about getting really clear on what matters most. My family will always come first, Mommy will always be my favorite title, & I’m incredibly proud that I’m building a business I love while still staying rooted in the life I’m building it around.

So today, I’m letting myself celebrate this one BIG. I’m proud, ridiculously excited, incredibly humbled + so, so grateful.

Black Fig & Co. is officially Best Caterer of 2026.

Fifteen months in. How is this real?!

If you know anything about me, you know I have a serious obsession with music. And there are a few artists I’ve fully convinced myself are basically my best friends. Dolly Parton is one of them.

So hearing of her passing today really got me.

I know posting some of my favorite moments since starting Black Fig alongside a Dolly Parton tribute might seem a little random, but it feels very fitting to me.

Dolly was talking about women owning who they are long before it was trendy.

In 1968, she released Just Because I’m a Woman, calling out the double standards women faced compared to men. Then came 9 to 5, a song + movie about the very real things women were dealing with at work: better pay, being passed over & simply not being taken seriously.

She wasn’t just singing about women building their own lives. She was doing it herself.

She crossed from country music into film, built Dollywood, created jobs in the community she came from, started the Imagination Library & did all of it while being underestimated for how she looked, how she dressed, how she talked & how feminine she was. She never made herself smaller to make other people more comfortable.

Smart. Funny. Feminine. Ambitious. Generous. Creative. Rhinestones. Completely herself.

So here are a few of my favorite moments from Black Fig, shared in honor of a woman who inspired so many of us to trust ourselves a little more.

The song playing is also my favorite Dolly Parton song. 🤍

And my favorite slide is the last one. I snapped that photo walking into a client’s home because she had it hanging right by her front door. It felt too perfect not to include.

Dear Dolly, thank you for the music, the movies, the humor & for paving a little more road for the women coming behind you.

BRB, we’re just designing the life that we love.

We spend so much of our lives being asked what we want to be when we grow up, as if one day we’re supposed to pick an answer & become her forever.

Respectfully, I don’t think that’s how this works. 😅

I’ve had more jobs, careers & “this might be it” seasons than I can count. I’ve changed my mind, started over, became a mom, built a business & outgrown versions of myself I once thought were permanent. Somewhere along the way, I’ve also discovered completely new ones I never saw coming.

And maybe that’s the whole point.

The woman I was five years ago is very different from the woman I am today, & I’m pretty confident the woman I’ll be five years from now will be different all over again.

So somewhere along the way, I stopped caring so much about what I wanted to be.

I care a lot more about who I want to be.

Free. Calm. Adventurous. Loving. Motivated. Creative.

Does anyone actually feel their age, or are we all just winging this?

T-27 days until your girl turns 40 years old. I have never felt more self-assured, more tired, more like a total boss + simultaneously more offended by my own age. Mentally? Still 23. Obviously.

It’s bizarre. It’s beautiful. It’s unhinged.

But my gosh, am I gobbling up this next decade.

We are having some FUN over here. 🤍
