Opening Hunt, Maryland USA November 2020

Sadly, I lost a shoe after only about 55 minutes, but I collected a bit of the action. I'll be back next week. A great time with a fine blessing of the hounds, horses and riders as well as a bagpipe send-off and good food and drink following the hunt. Welcome to the 2020-2021 season!

Final Cubbing 2020, Maryland USA

A quiet day in the field, but any time spent on a horse in beautiful country with good people is time well spent. Opening hunt is this Sunday!

There’s always something interesting happening with Mary and her animals. I accidentally caught a skunk while pursing a rogue groundhog. Mary insisted that we release the skunk. I was dubious of the protocol but gave it a try...and it worked!

Back from our farm in Aiken County, South Carolina USA 🇺🇸. The last cutting of hay is baled, the paddocks mowed and the farm awaits us for winter fox hunting and spring polo.

After the Sunday morning rain.

Volunteer pumpkins! From last year’s leftovers that I threw against the silo. Whatever works.

Most people will tell you that there’s a faulty ground connection when you have mysterious problems with trailer lights. Not always so. This morning’s fun time was tracing a short from the taillight wiring connections all the way to the junction box in the gooseneck. Ugh, but issue corrected and the trailer is road ready again.

Cubbing with the Green Thoroughbreds, Maryland USA

Only the fourth time out for Mary's in-training grey TB Field Hunter and that mare is doing very well!

I had a smudge on the middle of my lens, but the resulting video seems to work well enough...enjoy.

We were in Virginia today for polo with Charles Muldoon and Summerhill Polo. Mary was the announcer for both games and was extraordinary as always. She really knows how to draw the crowd into the game with her engaging style and deep knowledge of the sport.
