Lambing is done for 2024! 6 in total: Three rams and three ewes. All healthy. These babies are ready for reserve for after weaning (60 days +/-). I am also posting a picture of the Sire and there is one of the Dam with a new lamb. If no one is interested in a ram to put new blood into their stock, the last two boys will become weathers this week. These ewes would make a great starter flock for someone in the area who is looking to get into sheep. IM me for details.

Eeore is now glad he gets grain for the next month! The boys need their testosterone and increased protein is needed! They will have to do their "man thing" November 1. We have seen signs that the ladies are already in waiting.

Unregistered, proven Romney breeding ewe. High quality triplets last time she was bread three years ago. Nice tight staple. She is in estrous now, so if you want her exposed to a ram she can a likely deliver lamb(s) 5 month from now. You can come and choose which of my rams. She is very healthy, very resilient and holds her parasites well and has never had any foot rot. I have three of her offspring to inspect. Can deliver to Port Angeles local area. $200.00 obo.

Meet Lana, our newest full time staff member. Lana means "work" in the Pyreneean Basque language. She is a Great Pyrenees/Maremma cross. So, all Livestock Guardian. She behaves just as the book says a dog of this kind should. At only 5 months, she follows us around the farm, respects the fences, alerts us to the deer we don't want eating the plums under our trees. The sheep have decided she is good. They bed down next to her enclosure. Her third night we moved the sheep to the pasture near her, they came and bedded now in the tall grass near her enclosure after dark. She started barking about 10 PM. I went out with a flashlight and showed her who was there. She seemed to say, "Oh, the sheep, I did not know." and all was well for the rest of the night. She came to us from Hekate's Garden, a local breeder. We liked the mom and dad a lot and she seems to be a chip off the old block. It is usually about 2 years before they fully mature, but if she is doing this well at 5 months, she may be up to speed much sooner! Stay tuned for more on her training and journey.

Surprise is now a weather. You can tell, if I did not do it soon, he would be too big to get the band in place! He is growing like a Canada Thistle! He fit in my hands on father's day. The other day when I caught him, I almost could not carry him.

Father’s Day surprise at our Good Shepherd Sheep Farm. An ultrasound on this mom showed no signs of this little guy. I guess he was hiding in there. Mom gave birth unassisted and I noticed him when I went out to move the flock to their pasture-for-day. He’s now in the barn with mom so she can get some supplementation.

The breeding program begins officially with the arrival of two Purebred Romney rams. Tigger (white) and McGee (NC). Now in quarantine, vet check visit done, and shearing completed. They are getting used to their new home. While both come from Champion stock, it is McGee that is the most likely to the the resident stud. Tigger, while larger and with good looks :) shot blanks his first year. But, every boy has to have his buddy, so, he will probably keep McGee company and give our local hand spinners some white wool.
