A birthday bake for a dear friend/food mentor Peggy. ♥️
Inspired by ‘s brilliant bake off holiday showstopper, these flavors were absolutely mind blowing. Layers of limoncello scented sponge, rhubarb and raspberry thyme compote, lemon and rhubarb cake soak, raspberry Swiss meringue buttercream (my first ever!), all wrapped in a vanilla bean rhubarb collar. All of this, with fresh and masticated raspberries, thyme, candied lemon peel, and extra compote on top could only be described as “sparkly ✨” together. So much tartness, but all brought to life by the perfect balance of sweetness. A labor of love.

Thanks to for the special use of the kitchen, it made this projects efficiency possible! And thanks mom for remembering to take a picture! Time to make a simple batch of chocolate chip cookies next 😅.

Valentines Lofthouse Cookie Tres Leches cake for . Yes I did make sprinkles out of the lofthouse icing and it adds the perfect flavor and crunch 🥹🤌

Cannot stop thinking about how good this pecan slab tart was (pecan frangipane!! My god!). 100% added to the family recipe book to be passed down forever.

This weekend me, and conquered the dobos torte for this months and goodness, was I thankful we did it as a team! We went with a Ferrero Rocher milk chocolate butter cream, vanilla sponge, and a little later I topped it with a hazelnut praline candy too which added the perfect crunch (not pictured because this was a time consuming project!) I’m so thankful for the time we spent together, as well as Gabby’s stunning photography ♥️👏

Another night at Peggy’s in the books! I absolutely had to bake with these perfectly in-season Michigan nectarines and plums. I pulled inspiration from Brooks Hadley’s “Fancy Desserts” for the roasted fruit and plating, and went with Queen Natasha Pickowicz’s flawless toasted pound cake. Everyone came through with amazing courses tonight! Fresh made naan, hummus, roasted lemon/tomato/capers with fresh bread, (fresh) pesto with hand made pasta, halibut and ratatouille, and the best wine. It was all so good I forgot to take pictures of everything. Life really is about eating food with your friends ♥️.

When I say I’m craving a cinnamon roll, this is what I mean. My mom is the Cinnamon Roll Queen. Never so crunchy that you can’t focus on the flavor, extra spicy, and with pre-icing icing so the middle is extra melty. Eating one (especially right out of the oven) leads to instant euphoria.

An ode to summer berry pavlova 🍓. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside meringue (which still didn’t turn out as hoped - but still delicious), fresh vanilla whipped cream, red currant syrup, black cherries, strawberries, and beautiful currents from a sweet friend’s garden. You really can’t go wrong.

The cake is even cuter smashed! When my sister-in-law asked me to make a little birthday smash cake for my sweet nephew, how could I resist? Anything to make this guy happy. 🦕 🦖 🥚
