Preparing for Early Fall Weather Conditions

We want to make members aware of a weather system expected to move through our service territory over the next few days. Forecasts indicate periods of rain and gusty winds, making this the first significant storm system of the fall season.

With increased winds and continued precipitation, there is a higher potential for trees, branches, and other debris to come into contact with power lines, which may result in scattered power outages throughout our service territory.

As a precaution, Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative will continue operating under elevated system sensitivity settings that have been in place during wildfire season. These settings are designed to help protect the electric system and reduce the risk of wildfire ignition.

We encourage members to take a few simple steps to prepare for possible outages:
- Charge phones and other essential devices
- Locate flashlights and check battery supplies
- Review backup plans for medical equipment that requires electricity
- Stay clear of downed power lines and report them immediately

While weather related outages cannot always be prevented, our crews are prepared to respond safely and restore service as quickly as conditions allow.

We will continue to monitor the weather and provide updates as needed.

It's dredging time!🌊🚧

We know a lot of you will want to come down and take a look — and we don’t blame you.

Just please remember that this is a working dock. There will be cranes, boats, equipment, and people actively working. If you come down to watch, please stay out of the work areas, give the cranes and boats plenty of room, and follow directions from the crews and Port staff.

We want everyone to be able to enjoy watching the work while keeping our operators, crews, and visitors safe!

This dog belongs to the young man who was recently rescued at Tichenor Cove and is still hospitalized. His pup is still missing as of Sunday afternoon. Please help us reunite them!

If it weren’t for all the tasty sea treats that come our way in wintertime (we haven’t forgotten 🦀), we’d be pretty content with summertime year round 😎

Just so happens… GROUNDFISH is a year round fishery up and down the west coast! Friendly reminder that whenever you’re thinking: “what’s in season right now?” There is an easy answer to that 🎣
