Partial Lunar Eclipse 2026

Maine, look up tonight! 🌓

There’s a partial lunar eclipse tonight into early Friday morning, and we should be able to see it here in Maine… if the clouds decide to cooperate.

Peak eclipse is at 12:12 AM, which means there’s a pretty good chance I’ll be outside admiring the moon way later than I should be.

No special glasses needed for this one either, since it’s a lunar eclipse.

🌘 MAINE, LOOK UP! ☀️

There’s a partial solar eclipse happening TODAY, August 12th!

Here in Portland, the eclipse begins at 12:57 PM, peaks at 1:53 PM with about 19% of the sun covered, and ends around 2:47 PM.

The farther north you go, the bigger the eclipse! Bangor will see around 24% coverage, while parts of Aroostook County could see close to 29%.

👓 IMPORTANT: Don’t look directly at the sun without proper eclipse glasses! Regular sunglasses do not provide enough protection.

So if you see half of Maine standing outside staring upward this afternoon… now you know why. 😂

Who’s planning to watch? And more importantly, will the Maine clouds cooperate?! 🌘☀️☁️

Some birthdays just stay with you. ❤️

Watching Teresa celebrate her 31st birthday was one of those nights that reminded me how quickly life moves. I swear she was just a teenager yesterday, and now she’s built a beautiful life surrounded by people who love her.

When I asked her what song she wanted for her birthday dinner, she chose “Thank You” by Bonnie Raitt. Between that song, the chatter around the table, and seeing everyone celebrate her, I found myself crying. Happy tears, but tears all the same.

Woodford F&B made the evening feel so special. We shared everything from Osetra caviar and latkes (which Teresa promptly folded into a “caviar taco” 😂), incredible deviled eggs, fried Brussels sprouts, pickled vegetables, Brie with grilled baguette, and so much more. I loved my roast half chicken, and of course I had to steal bites from everyone else’s plates. Occupational hazard of being a food creator. 😅

A special thank you to Issy for taking such wonderful care of us and adding so many thoughtful touches that made the evening unforgettable. And thank you to the entire Woodford F&B team for helping create such a memorable celebration.

Also, thank you so much, Curtis. ❤️

Happy Birthday, Teresa. I love the woman you’ve become, even if my brain is still convinced you’re about 17.

I started Dani Devours Maine in 2022 because I wanted to make YouTube restaurant reviews.

Somewhere along the way, it became something a little different.

These days, I share local restaurants, small businesses, community events, nonprofits, hidden gems, and honestly…just things I think more people should know about.

You’ll also see little bits of my everyday life mixed in, because that’s just part of who I am.
