Good afternoon my FB family and my followers and supporters that go way beyond the hotdog stand but as of right now I want to focus on those that showed up for me today and I want to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude for the support I received today at the Portsmouth in Bloom Farmers Market. I don’t think any of you that were there and up close and personal could not easily tell that this was my 1st because it started out this way. I’m taking my stuff off the truck to serve to the public, and as I’m coming down the ramp, the dolly tilts, and every cold topping I had laid on the ground right in front of my face and the only thing I could think about was that I screwed up a perfect opportunity to make a good first impression. Then as the farmers market started, while everyone was open for business I didn’t have a single hotdog, or hotdog bun ready to sell. I’m telling y’all I was ready to run into the bathroom urinal and hide out for the rest of the day. A lady showed up and she wanted a unsweetened tea that I had for my Arnold Palmer and I was like “a chance to redeem myself” and come to find out, I brought cups and no lids. I was convinced then that this wasn’t gonna be my day because of the rookie performance that I was putting on. Then God showed up in the form of good loving understanding people. And in the form of determination and resilience and all this pushed me into action. I called my manager Rob Carver and asked if he could bring my lemonade shaker lids, which he didn’t hesitate to bring because he was like Clark Kent that turned into Superman to recuse the needy. Another lady showed up and said, I saw you dropped everything do you need me to make a store run for you or anything and this young, beautiful spirited lady took time out of her time to go to Kroger and get me 2 bags of ice. Are you kidding me. Then a young lady who had a setup across the street came over and said, “welcome and don’t worry about that little mistake and told me to have a good day.”I was in disarray about a hours after the event started and my booth was probably up for reward for THE LESS LIKELY TO SUCCEED. It was an absolute mess. Then out of nowhere I get flooded with customers for about 10:30am all the way to 1:00pm which is shut down time and ended up walking away with a little over $400 all because God sent people to the rescue to keep me going. My family from the Oxford House Liza Beth and our house manager Chris and my old roommate Eric came out to support. Ms Julia Biggs came out and bought a dog, people were coming up offering me catering and event participation activities like left and right. Clayton Blevins came out and left me a tip so big I couldn’t believe it. Not to mention the whole staff that with well positioned team member of the Main Street Portsmouth In Bloom committee who made their love and there presence known through helping me out in anyway I asked for, as other ways I didn’t ask for. And special thanks to Ms Emily Uldrich who just showed up and took all my fears away by offering nothing but undiluted support for running extension cords, buying a hotdog, and helping to load all my stuff onto the truck after my event with her and her crew really showed me the true meaning of being a event organizer. They stayed with me until the truck pulled off and I appreciate it a lot. I am very humbled to be a part of the Portsmouth Business Community and to have a opportunity to make our community a more loving, caring, and vibrant community by creating and bringing a business to the public that they have responded very well to. See you guys next Saturday and the stand❤️❤️❤️
