What a beautiful evening to mark the end of a long harvest. With the help of a neighbor and good fortune that nothing broke down. The grain bin is full. Trucks will be taking corn to the mill. A big sigh of relief!

While the temperatures have cooled off lately, we definitely have gotten spring fever and started planting oats and alfalfa. The two seeds are great companions. The oats provide comfy bedding as straw for the cattle in the winter and the alfalfa will be harvested later for feed.

It’s harvest time in Northern Michigan! Please be aware of tractors and farm equipment on the roads as we harvest our crops and bring them in to the farm or elevators. We provide a safe food product for you and we ask that you allow us to be on the roads safely as well.
