Our batch of mixed lettuce and spinach are doing well under the lights and the peppers and eggplant are snug as a bug waiting to sprout in a week or so!

Today we are highlighting another new pepper variety. Lemon drop pepper!

Seasoning pepper from Peru ripens to a clear lemon yellow, sometimes with a dark purple blush. The flavor is a very clean, uncomplicated, slightly citrusy heat. Great for jellies and preserves. 2-foot plants are covered with the thin-walled, conical fruit which reaches 2-3 inches in length, with very few seeds.

Have a great Monday!

Okay folks the journey has begun. First set of peppers and eggplant planted. We will start our tomatoes in a week or so.

Today we are highlighting one of our new varieties of peppers. The Jamaican Yellow Mushroom Pepper 😎

Jamaican Yellow Mushroom chile peppers are small, flattened pods, averaging five centimeters in length and three centimeters in diameter, and have a round shape with a wrinkled and gnarled appearance. The skin is crinkled, waxy, and shiny, ripening from green to yellow when mature. Underneath the surface, the flesh is crisp and pale yellow, encasing a small cavity filled with round and flat, cream-colored seeds. Jamaican Yellow Mushroom chile peppers have an aroma similar to that of a bell pepper, with a fruity, citrus-forward flavor mixed with intense spice.

Have a great Sunday

Happy hump day! Weather looks good with a nice warm up at the end of next week. 7-10 day forecast is looking good so far!

Today we are highlighting three types of zucchini that we will be starting and growing this season. Black Beauty Zucchini, Grey Zucchini and Safari Zucchini.

Black Beauty-

Heirloom. A 1957 All-America Selections winner, this early and prolific heirloom variety has been exceedingly popular for its very dark green skin and creamy white flesh. You know what they say about zucchini, "plant it and stand back." The fast-growing plants are very easy to grow and will continue to produce abundantly through summer if kept picked. Use in soups, salads, and casseroles. Great sliced thin for dips

Grey Zucchini-

Grey Zucchini is a high yielding, heat resistant variety with delicious flavor. It produces small to medium, medium grey-green, grey freckled fruit. Grey zucchinis are firm, small seeded, and stockier than their dark green counterparts, and boasts excellent mild flavor, and a crisp, tender texture

Safari Zucchini-

Add some pizzazz to your summer harvest with these uniquely striped zucchinis. Safari Hybrid Summer Squash produces high yields of striped, green fruits that have a mild, sweet flavor with nutty undertones. Whether grilled, steamed or sautéed, they'll add wonderful color to the dinner plate. The spine-free plants grow in a bush habit, making harvest easy. Safari Hybrid Summer Squash is a prolific producer, so you'll have plenty of fruits to enjoy and to share. For the best flavor, we recommend harvesting at the 6-8 in. stage. 41-50 DAYS.

As we continue to highlight our summer squash varieties, one variety has been one of our heartiest of the bunch.

Zephyr Squash-

This is the prettiest Summer Squash ever! Its stem end is pale yellow, and its blossom end is pale green, the sharp line between the two colors falling somewhere in between, with pale silver stripes along the length. These prolific two-toned beauties are delicious, too, with a delicate, sweet and nutty flavor when harvested at 4" to 7" long.

As always if interested In starts of this variety shoot us a message and we will add you to the list.

Have a great day!

Happy Monday! The sun has returned! We are getting excited for the warmth to visit us soon.

Today we feature a new variety that we will be growing. A staple in Italian cuisine, Bianca Di Trieste.

Italian Courgette Bianca Di Trieste. Originating from Northern Italy this reliable performer and popular market variety. Produces a continuous crop of light green courgettes on vigorous bushy plants all summer. The fruits are creamy white with a luscious, rich, creamy taste and texture. Best to be pick up regulary around fat cigar size.

Happy Sunday guys! We got close to 2 inches of rain overnight. Thank you for all the great feedback and interest in starter plants 😎

Our 2nd Squash variety we will be producing and probably my personal favorite, Cocozelle Zucchini (Italian Striped Zucchini).

Also known as 'Cocozella di Napoli', this Italian heirloom has not only become a garden staple, it was also a parent to enough newer named varieties that it is now a category of Cucurbita pepo.[2] The plants are bush-type producing long cylindrical zucchini fruit that are dark green colored and striped in lighter green. Their flesh is greenish white and firm. Although we prefer to harvest the fruit when they are about eight to ten inches in length.

Have a great Sunday! Enjoy the NFL championship games today!

As we gear up for our seed starting extravaganza in a few weeks, we wanted to reach out to everyone.

Like last year, we will be selling veggie starts the first couple weeks of April. Over the next few weeks we will be highlighting the varieties that we will be growing! (Many cannot be bought at the box stores).

If you see a variety you might want, let us know and we will add you/variety to our master grow list.

Costa Romanesco is our first summer squash we will be highlighting since it’s a family favorite!

Traditional Italian heirloom with great flavor.

This distinctive zucchini is medium gray-green, with pale green flecks and prominent ribs. Big, large-leafed, semi-vining plants with only about half the yield of hybrids, but much better flavor; clearly better textured, nutty, and delicious, raw or cooked. Also a good producer of heavy male blossoms for cooking.

Edible Flowers: Blossoms bear a mild, squash-like flavor and are great stuffed and fried, or sliced for used in soups, omelets, salads, and pasta dishes.

If you have any questions or would like to find out what starts we are growing, what we will be having at the stand or any other inquires just drop us a line!

When we were at the farm in Amelia, I always grew Armenian Cucumbers but stopped for some reason. Well this year we are growing striped Armenian Cucumbers. One of the best cucumbers I have ever had! Be on the lookout for starts and the finished product at the farm stand!! They are yummylicious!

Unique appearance and excellent flavor.

Unusual, slightly fuzzy, serpentine fruits are slightly ridged with alternating dark- and light-green stripes. Harvest from 8–18". Despite its shape, Striped Armenian is not a true cucumber, but is a member of the melon family. Delicious and different. Also known as 'Painted Serpent.'
