Well, quick ranch update.
Due to losing the majority of the flock of chickens to a persistent trash panda and other things.
We ended up combining the chickens into one coop, then debated and weighed the pros/cons of getting an LGD earlier than planned.
So we did the research and looked around for what was available....

We want to introduce to you the newest EMPLOYEE to the ranch, Storm. ⛈️🌩

She is an Anatolian/Pyrenees. She came from a farm that was already working with the puppies around their farm animals ( chickens, cats, cattle, pigs). She is already hard at work; right here, she is watching the ducks and turkeys in the other run.

The ducks are laying...well I should say the single female duck we have that wasn't taken out. Hoping to hatch out a few ducks from another local ranch next month.

Added some new poultry to the ranch.

We've got great egg production going again. The newest batch of chicks from a local breeder and a hatchery have moved into a large brooder and the ducks and geese are growing quickly. We've discovered along with our paint frizzls silkie we've got a frizzle polish! All good things!

It's been quite awhile since we've posted, mostly just life getting in the way. Job changes, home schooling, low egg production, just life in general lol. We're trying to get back into posting more again. Hopefully twice a week at least. So, first of those updates, new chick/duck/ gosling pictures!!

Its been a hot minute since we've posted. Life has been busy! Sent one of Caseys boys off to Army basic training, school has started. We've got a senior and a 1st grader, both of which are doing an online charter school this year. Our youngest has been officially diagnosed with adhd-c which is a bit nuts in itself .life has just been off the charts! Egg production has been slow both because of the heat and of course the summer molting. The big hens, 15 total, are laying 2 maybe 3 eggs a day. The pullets, 26, have not started laying yet but should any time. But, our ducks are now laying! Ive never eaten duck eggs so im definitely looking forward to that! We will definitely try to update more!
