As I hoped, a good round of thunderstorms encouraged mares to foal overnight.
I woke up to not just one, but TWO grandsons of Ris Key Business up and nursing this morning.

Falcon has a black tovero (SW1) c**t - stallion prospect - by DP GunnaOutShineYa

Frankie has a bay tobiano c**t by Champagne Party Bug

Not sure what makes me happier, a much needed inch of rain, or two new foals. 😉

This black tobiano filly is one month old today.

What a gorgeous chunk. She looks like a well bred cow horse should!

Dam is a daughter of A Tru Rolex. Sire is a son of Ris Key Business. Photos of their papers included.

Homozygous tobiano and black through parentage. We are assuming she inherited her dam's frame overo gene due to her markings and that very blue eye. (She can be tested, if you need a guarantee.)

Foals all lead, load, stand tied with registration papers in hand before going to their new homes.

Can you tell they are 3/4 sisters?

Diaman H Ris Key Lacy (left) is a 2021 dun tobiano mare sired by Pepsis Color Master o/o daughter of Ris Key Business (second dam by QT Poco Streke)
Just bred her to Ringo, will send her out for 30 - 60 days ride once confirmed in foal.
Probably keeping this mare!

Pepsis Sugar Babe (right) is also a 2021 dun tobiano mare sired by Pepsis Color Master o/o a daughter of Ris Key Business (second dam is a Leo San bred mare).
Also just bred to Ringo.
Already broke to ride, but not ridden in about a year.

My 2 rescues have been successfully rehomed to South Dakota.
I've no doubt they'll be fat and sassy and terribly spoiled in no time at all.

HUGE sorrel overo/tovero c**t born around midnight. This boy is both big bodied AND long legged. But Leddie is close to 16 hands herself, so she popped him right out with no issues.

Now we should have a short break. The next 3 mares aren't due until the 2nd week of June

I am anxiously awaiting this long overdue foal. It will be our second sired by Steady Smoking Guns. (Anything less than all white will be greatly appreciated, as there are a half dozen white genes at play here.)

I was SUPPOSED to have a 3 week break to catch up on sleep before the next round of foals were due.
It's common knowledge that mares do NOT care - at all - about our plans.
Leddie (Diaman H QTs RiskeyLeo) is only a few hours from 3 weeks overdue. She actually had this year's FIRST due date.

More tstorms tonight, we shall see.... 🤞

Tail hair pulled and sent in to Animal Genetics yesterday.
Specifically interested in:
1) Which SW gene (1 and/or 2) does Belle's palomino overo have.
2) Is Zip's grullo tobiano c**t dble homozygous and does he have the frame overo gene.
3) Is Hottie's grullo tobiano c**t triple homozygous (DD).
4) Is Midge's black tobiano filly double homozygous, and also confirming SW1.

This cute black tobiano/tovero filly showed up around 9:30 last night.
Her sire is Tru Gay Bar Passion (by Gay Bar Drummer o/o dtr A Tru Rolex)
Her dam is Diaman H Straits Risk (by Ris Key Business o/o dtr Strait From Texas)
We know she's EE through parentage, and appears to carry her dam's SW 1 gene....but will definitely need to test for tobiano homozygousity before she's available.

We had another 'two for one' night! Both c**ts are sired by Tru Gay Bar Passion (by Gay Bar Drummer o/o dtr A Tru Rolex)
Grullo tobiano c**t was born around midnight and is out of Diaman H Hot Breeze (granddaughter of both Ris Key Business and QT Poco Streke). He's double hz and will be tested for hz dun before becoming available.

C**t #2 is not ours, as we sold Pepsi Lou (C My Color Master) last fall, but she came 'home' to foal. This black tobiano c**t was born just after 9 pm, and is hz tobiano. He's currently a bit over at the knees (contracted tendons), but time - and a smaller pen/paddock - will stretch them out quite nicely. He's very tall (both are) so possibly was malpositioned in utero.
