Parker is riding Grandpa Steve’s horse Charlie, who has now been through all 4 of our boys. 🥰 Charlie has let them all occasionally tangle the rope around his legs and hit his ears while the boys learned to handle a horse and rope at the same time and then drag a calf to the fire without much complaining! Thank you for sharing Charlie 20+ years Grandpa Steve and thanks to Charlie who does not know he is old!

A little sunshine yesterday and nearly 60 degrees really lifts the spirits, but the mud sure slows us down!

The younger kids have really stepped up this year to help out with not only gathering but processing cattle. Two 9 year olds, an eleven year old, 13 year old and an old momma are the crew for Jake these days!

It is the time of year with long riding days for Jake as he begins bringing cattle home from the Blue Mountains to our winter pastures on the Eureka Flats.

Have you seen some cattle in the Blue mountains with their lovely new “jewelry“? We are so excited to be using new technology to help keep our cattle where they belong and to utilize and care for the grasses and pastures!
These collars are a part of our new virtual fence. We are learning the system this summer and are already impressed!
