❄️ Spex said it’s time to hunker down! ❄️
Did you know a heat lamp in your coop during winter is NOT a good idea? Not only are they an extreme ⚠️ FIRE HAZARD ⚠️ but chickens are cold hearty- and WITHOUT heat, they grow thicker feathers! A heat lamp keeps them from adjusting to drops in the temperature, therefore making them vulnerable if the power goes out! It also increases moisture in their coop, creating more humidity, and that is the cause of 🥶FROSTBITE🥶 to their combs and waddles! The BEST thing for your chickens during this winter weather is to keep their coop dry, and draft free! Spex said lots of treats too! 😆 Stay warm yall, and God bless!🤍
