It has been a very long time since anything has been posted here. As our children have graduated we have downsized. We no longer have dairy goats and are no longer making goat milk soap to sell.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I haven't posted much as our farm activities have decreased. Our animal numbers are down and nothing exciting is happening at the moment. We wish everyone joy in the new year.
New baby born today
At long last, Maggie has kidded and we have a new buckling.
Untitled album
It's been a slow spring. We have made a little progress on our vegetable garden. We are still waiting for Maggie to give birth, it should be any day now.
I have been quite remiss in keeping this page updated. It is fall and time to breed the goats.
I have been remiss in keeping this page updated. Lilac gifted us with three bucklings on Feb. 10. They are growing well. We are still waiting for Magnolia's babies.
Been a long time since I have posted. It is breeding season once again. Planing on both Alpine and Boer babies this time around.
Magnolia had a doe and a buck. Mama and babies doing fine.
Magnolia is due to have her Alpine babies any minute. Already on the ground are Marilyn's Boer babies and Lilac's Nigerian Dwarf/Alpine cross babies. We have peeps in the entry way.... yep Spring is here!

Meet Ivy our English Shepherd puppy
Our daughter's wedding reception was held here this past weekend and all of the animals behaved and stayed where they were supposed to! We have been having goat escapees this past week so we were very happy everyone stayed where they were supposed to. The wedding was lovely and the weather was very nice for as late in November as it is.
Babies are all weaned now, breeding for next years babies and preparing for the colder weather.
Tired baby goat at the county fair....
Babies are leaping and jumping now! 2 weeks old already.....
Lilac had triplets last night, 1 doe and 2 bucks :-) everybody doing well
We have been clearing an area for a garden.... it means taking some trees down and it looks strange to see it sunny where it was previously shaded.....
The chicks and ducklings have been moved outside. Still using a heat lamp at night but they are out of the house!
All the babies are growing fast! The goats are growing by leaps and bounds! The leghorn chicks have been moved to the outside brooder. The other chicks are beginning to feather. The kids even talked me into some baby ducklings, which are very cute and under a heat lamp in our entryway :-)
We will be selling the Alpine buck Murphy after he is weaned. Let us know if you are interested.
St. Patrick's day alpine babies! The whiter one is a buck and the darker one is a doe. Names are yet to be decided.
baby boer goat born today, of course while we are having severe cold weather......
Very cold weather = Frozen rabbit water bottles... which means having to have 2 sets of bottles.... one set out on rabbit cages and one set in the house thawing out......
Padme and Obi-wan born last night
Alpine goat Leia born May 16 2014
Yea! The peeps have feathered and are now in an outside brooding pen :-)
We have peeps! Actually 2 sets.... one set a month old and one set a week old. Lots of peeping going on in my house, can't wait for the first set to be feathered enough to move outside!
More snow!! We have over 10 inches so far.... it has been a snowy winter
windstorm 3-13-14
This windstorm really did a number on our trees! We had one miss our house by inches. One miss an animal house by inches. One come down over chicken run and just missed hitting the chicken house. One flattened the goat fencing and goats all got out. and 2 came down across the pond. We haven't finished cutting trees from previous storms, so it feels like we have firewood forever.
We have weathered several storms in the last month.... With spring just around the corner.... mud season is coming!
Ice storm = no school and walking very carefully to feed and water today.
Another cold snap, and we have been hauling lots of water once again. Summer watering is so much nicer than winter watering. We are going through lots of hay to keep all the animals warm :-)
